Jio Airtel Satellite Internet Service: Elon Musk lags behind in the satellite internet race! Jio and Airtel have made big preparations

Jio Airtel Satellite Internet Service: Satellite internet service is going to be launched in India soon. TRAI has sought suggestions from stakeholders for network allocation and pricing. After spectrum allocation, Jio and Airtel can start their satellite service. At the same time, Elon Musk has lagged behind in this race.

TRAI is going to allocate spectrum soon to start satellite internet service in India. The telecom regulator has made preparations for this. TRAI has sought suggestions from stakeholders for spectrum pricing and allocation etc. In the race for satellite internet service in India, the name of Elon Musk’s company Starlink has been at the forefront for the last two years. At the same time, both the leading telecom operators Airtel and Jio have also geared up for satellite internet service.

Elon Musk lags behind in the race

Service providers are preparing to start their services only after the spectrum allocation process is completed. Elon Musk’s company Starlink had applied in October 2022 to start satellite internet service in India. At the same time, another foreign company Amazon is also going to launch satellite internet service in the Indian market. However, both these foreign companies seem to be lagging behind in this race.

Jio and Airtel have made preparations

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has approved Airtel’s Eutelsat Oneweb and Jio’s SES satellite internet service to start the service. They just have to wait for spectrum allocation. At the same time, Elon Musk’s company and Amazon have not yet completed the security related compliance. DoT has written a letter related to this to both these companies. Also, the Department of Telecommunications will also send reminders to these companies if the compliance is not completed.

Satellite Internet is a magic bullet

Recently, Airtel Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal described satellite internet service as a magic bullet. Sunil Mittal says that through this we will be able to connect any area of the country to the Internet. Especially those remote areas where terrestrial mobile network has not reached. 2 billion people of the world are still deprived of internet service. In such a situation, it is being considered a very important technology for the future. With the start of satellite internet service, telecom operators will be able to provide network to every area of the country.

At present, there are 20 to 25 percent areas of the country where people do not get proper internet connectivity. In such a situation, satellite internet has become their only solution. The government is engaged in infrastructure development in the country under the Gatishakti scheme. Satellite internet service is also an important link in this scheme. With the start of the service, internet service will also reach those 5 percent Indians who are currently living outside the internet service area.
